Dr. Kenney Potter

Clinician Dr. Michelle Roueché Dr. Kenney Potter serves as Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities at Wingate University. While teaching in the Gaston County school system, his choirs enjoyed performances in the Kennedy Center, National Cathedral, Riverside Church in New York City, and Carnegie Hall. He is an active clinician and adjudicator in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. Recently, he has been a clinician for Guilford County, Lutheridge Music Conference and the Adult Festival by the Sea Conference. His compositions are published by Hinshaw Music and Chorister’s Guild. Dr. Potter also serves as a church musician and is associate conductor of the Charlotte Children’s Choir, where he conducts Cantare, a choir of changing and changed male voices. Dr. Potter has a B.M.E. (choral music) from Florida State University, M.S. from Portland State University, and a PhD. from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.




Margaret MacKay, accompanist

Margaret Hicks MacKayMargaret Hicks MacKay is a native of Iva, SC, where she became organist of her home church, Good Hope Presbyterian, at the age of 13 and served there until her junior year of college.

She holds degrees in organ performance from Anderson College (now University); Furman University, and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. She did further study at Converse College.

She has served churches in Iva, SC; Greenville, SC; Belton, SC; and Louisville, KY as well as the following churches in Anderson, SC:
St. John’s United Methodist Organist/Choir Director 1981-1987
Boulevard Baptist Organist/Music Associate 1987-1992
First Presbyterian Organist/Director of Music 1992 – 2010
She begins duties September 1, 2010, as part-time Director of Music for Fort Hill Presbyterian in Clemson, SC
Margaret is married to Raymond MacKay. They have 5 grown children, love to travel and entertain.
She has served as accompanist for the adult Festival by the Sea for 4 years. “It’s one of my FAVORITE things to do.”
